A model, not a sketch
A scaffold drawn by hand is a description. A scaffold built in 3D is a structure with coordinates — the bay lengths are measurable, the lifts line through, and the drawing you hand the squad is the same object the material list came off. The difference shows up on site, where a description gets interpreted and a drawing gets built.

Most scaffolds are built to a compliance sheet. Some are not, and those need a competent designer. The useful thing is knowing which is which before the wagon is loaded rather than at the first inspection, and having the answer attached to the structure rather than sitting in somebody's inbox.
