Industrial
Scaffolding software for industrial sites.
A shutdown window somebody else owns, and access granted by permit.

Industrial scaffolding is access work for somebody else's maintenance. The scaffold exists so that a vessel can be entered, a structure inspected or plant replaced, and its whole value is that it is up, inspected and handed over before the shutdown window opens — and down again before the plant restarts.
That makes the schedule immovable in a way no construction programme is. A shutdown has a start and a finish decided months in advance by production, and scaffolding that is not ready has not delayed a trade, it has delayed the plant. The cost of that is not comparable to anything on a building site.
The access itself is also controlled. Permits, isolations and site inductions are held by the client, work happens in live environments, and who is allowed on site at all depends on cards and training being current. The competence record becomes an operational gate rather than a file.
The records
What industrial scaffolding are answerable for
- Project and site register across contracts and shutdowns
- The compliance sheet or bespoke design each structure was built to
- Quotes from the material list the design produced
- Handover certificates and tag status per structure
- Routine, post-alteration and post-weather inspection records
- CISRS card, medical and training expiry per operative
The problem
What makes this hard for industrial scaffolding
The window belongs to production
Dates are set months ahead by the plant and do not move for you. Scaffold that is not handed over on time holds up the shutdown rather than a following trade.
Cards and medicals as a gate
On a controlled site, an operative whose card or medical has lapsed is not a paperwork problem, they are turned away at the gate — usually on the morning the squad was needed most.
Access under permit
Isolations, confined spaces and hot works permits are issued under the client's process. The scaffolding record and the permit record sit in different systems and are joined by a conversation.
Structures that are not ordinary
Birdcages inside vessels, truss-outs, cantilevers and suspended arrangements turn up far more often than on construction work, and they are the configurations that leave a compliance sheet behind.
Handovers to people who check
Industrial clients audit the tag, the certificate and the inspection record as a matter of routine, and expect them produced rather than located.
The answer
How ScaffoldOptix helps
Cards and medicals as a gate
CISRS card, medical and training expiry sit against the operative, so the gang that is actually allowed on site is known before the wagon leaves rather than at the gatehouse.
Projects and sitesHandovers to people who check
Handover certificates and current tag status are held per structure, so a client audit is answered from the record rather than from a folder in a cabin.
Handovers and certificatesStructures that are not ordinary
Modelling the configuration produces a drawing and a material list, which is what makes an unusual arrangement visible — and the need for a designer obvious — while the job is still being planned.
3D scaffold designThe window belongs to production
Inspections and adaptations are recorded against the structure, so what is inspected, handed over and ready going into a window is a fact rather than an estimate.
Inspections and adaptationsAccess under permit
Projects and sites hold the structures and squads per contract, which is the record a permit conversation refers to even though the permit itself stays with the client.

Questions
What industrial scaffolding ask
- Does it hold permits or isolation certificates?
- No. Permits and isolations are issued and controlled by the client under their own process, and ScaffoldOptix neither issues them nor replaces that process. It holds the scaffolding record the permit relates to.
- Does it track CISRS cards and medicals?
- Yes — card, medical and training expiry are held per operative. Whether a particular card is the right one for a particular task remains your judgement and your client's.
- Can it design a birdcage inside a vessel?
- It can model the configuration and produce drawings and a material list. It cannot tell you the arrangement is adequate; anything outside a compliance sheet needs a competent designer, and the design is recorded here rather than produced here.
- Does it schedule around a shutdown?
- Squads and vehicles are scheduled across live contracts, so a shutdown's labour can be planned against it. It is not programme or Gantt software and does not hold the plant's own schedule.
- Does it invoice standing time?
- No. There is no invoicing or accounting. Quoting ends at the issued quote.
